Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) has completed its most successful employee fundraising campaign ever and will provide $39,114 to the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut in 2020.  Both the total dollars raised and percentage of employee participation (109, or 77%) have exceeded any other level of support by NPU.

Mass Mutual Aid

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) is sending 13 employees to assist with the response to a series of natural gas explosions on Thursday evening in Lawrence, Andover and North Andover, Massachusetts. Media reports indicate there were 60-80 fires and 40 homes damaged in the communities which are served by Columbia Gas.

NPU to upgrade natural gas infrastructure along West Thames Street

On Monday, July 23, crews from Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) will begin a project to replace nearly 2,000 feet of cast-iron natural gas piping with safer, modern piping. This work will take place along West Thames Street, from Dunham Street to Bushnell Place and should be complete by October.

NPU schedules flushing of water system for 2018

NPU provides $9,250 rebate to Norwich Arts Council for HVAC upgrade

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) and the Norwich Arts Center (NAC) partnered on a significant heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) upgrade at the organization’s building at 60-64 Broadway in Downtown Norwich. The project, which was completed earlier this month, earned the nonprofit a rebate of $9,250 through NPU’s Cool Choice program.
