Eighth Street water main project successfully completed

In August of 2021, NPU successfully completed one of our most difficult water main repair projects ever – the replacement of a 20-foot section of water main under the railroad tracks on Eighth Street in Greeneville.

NPU approves economic development rate

During its August Board meeting, NPU Commissioners approved a new economic development rate to help attract large commercial and industrial customers to Norwich. The new rate would apply only to the largest customers that consumer 100,000 kilowatts of electricity or more each month. 1. Caulk around windows to keep warm air from escaping and cold air from entering. Even if you have done this in the past, caulking needs to be replaced periodically.
2. Replace weatherstripping around doors. If you can see light around the edges of your exterior doors, an investment of a few dollars to install weatherstripping can save you hundreds of dollars in heating costs.

NORWICH – Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) has completed another successful employee fundraising campaign event and will provide $32,110 to the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut in 2021.  This amount includes individual employee contributions, through one-time gifts or regular payroll deductions throughout the year, and a corporate benefactor contribution from NPU. 62% of NPU employees participated

NPU Guidance – Extreme Weather This Week

With temperatures likely to exceed 90 degrees in Norwich and the humidity expected to increase, NPU expects demand for electricity to be very high through the middle of the week.
