In August of 2021, NPU successfully completed one of our most difficult water main repair projects ever – the replacement of a 20-foot section of water main under the railroad tracks on Eighth Street in Greeneville.

Norwich to consider Pension Obligation Bonds this November

In August, the Norwich City Council adopted an ordinance in the amount of $145,000,000 in connection with the issuance of general obligation pension bonds to fund the liabilities of the City of Norwich Employees’ Retirement Plan. The Council also voted to submit the appropriation and bonding authorization to the voters of Norwich for approval at a referendum to be held in conjunction with the November 2, 2021 election.

NPU approves economic development rate

During its August Board meeting, NPU Commissioners approved a new economic development rate to help attract large commercial and industrial customers to Norwich. The new rate would apply only to the largest customers that consumer 100,000 kilowatts of electricity or more each month. Eligible customers would receive a discount over five years that would decrease

NORWICH – The NPU Board of Commissioners voted during its March meeting to approve its recent evaluation of General Manager Chris LaRose, calling his performance over the past year as outstanding under even normal circumstances.  But the Board also praised LaRose’s job in managing the utility through a number of financial and operational challenges due
