NPU to upgrade natural gas infrastructure along West Thames Street

On Monday, July 23, crews from Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) will begin a project to replace nearly 2,000 feet of cast-iron natural gas piping with safer, modern piping. This work will take place along West Thames Street, from Dunham Street to Bushnell Place and should be complete by October.

Combined Sewer Overflow Long Term Control Plan Meeting

NPU will conduct a public informational meeting on August 1, 2018 at 6 PM at 16 South Golden Street, Norwich, on the updated draft of its existing Combined Sewer Overflow Long Term Control Plan (CSO/LTCP).

NPU schedules flushing of water system for 2018

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) will begin the annual flushing of its water system for 2018 during the week of July 9. This phase of the work is expected to be complete by August 3rd.  A second phase of hydrant flushing will be performed in the early fall. 

NPU’s new LED streetlights installed at four demonstration locations

NPU participates in World Fish Migration Day on April 21

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) will once again partner with the State of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) to celebrate World Fish Migration Day on Saturday, April 21, 2018. As part of the celebration, events will be held at fourteen locations across Connecticut to demonstrate efforts being made to assist and improve migratory fish runs.
