On Thursday, November 5, 2020, a private tree contractor will be working with NPU and Norwich Public Works to remove a large tree at 204 Old Salem Road that has become a public safety hazard.

In order to safely remove this tree, NPU will be de-energizing our overhead lines at 7:30 am on Thursday, disrupting electrical service for six customers for most of the day. We anticipate that the tree will be removed and power restored by approximately 3:30 pm.

This critical work will also impact vehicular traffic on Old Salem Road throughout the day, so people traveling in this area will be asked to take an alternative route.

Residents on Old Salem Road should consider moving their cars on Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning to avoid any issues or delays.
