Plas-Pak Industries is celebrating its 30th year of operations, a significant milestone for a family-owned company that has been an anchor in the Stanley Israelite Business Park since 1993.

Plas-Pak is a leading injection molding company with a proprietary line of disposable packages and dispensers. The company has 144 employees with an average tenure with the company of approximately 15 years. Charlie Frey, CEO of Plas-Pak, said that the company has more than a dozen second generation employees.

Earlier this month, Norwich Public Utilities was pleased to award the company with a rebate of $19,902 for the purchase of high-efficiency commercial equipment that will help the company to work more efficiently while saving money on their energy costs each month.

The recent investments in energy-efficiency equipment will be central to the company’s continued growth and expansion. Plas-Pak products have a range of applications and are used in a variety of industries, such as animal health, ‘do it yourself’, dental, building, and construction industries. Most significantly, their products, all manufactured in Norwich, are used in 30 countries around the world.

According to Frey, the key to the company’s success over the past 30 years is being, “small, smart, focused and fast on our feet.” Identifying and investing in ways to save money on electrical costs will almost certainly help them execute on this strategy in the years to come.
