Initiative will help small businesses save big money
Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) has launched a T-12 Change-Out/Rebate Program that will help small businesses use less energy and save money every month by switching from high wattage T-12 bulbs to low wattage LED T-8 bulbs.
This T-12 Change-Out/Rebate Program is designed to address the top three concerns and obstacles that small business owners must consider before taking this important step:
- Lack of capital
- Lack of time for research, purchasing and installation
- Cost of labor and payback time
The benefits of NPU’s T-12 Change-Out Program are easy to understand:
Converting to LED T-8s from T-12 lamps will reduce energy use by approximately 50% per lamp. If you have 15 fixtures in your business, and two lamps per fixture, this would result in a savings of approximately $624 per year, or $6,240 over the ten-year lifespan of a new LED T-8 bulb.
And as an additional incentive, NPU will rebate 50% of the cost of any T-8 LED bulbs that are DLC rated, following verification and an onsite inspection.
For example, if you have 25 fixtures that hold 4 lamps each and swap those out for new T8 LEDs, total cost would be $1,200. NPU will provide your business with a rebate you $600.
By setting aside just a few minutes, a business will start saving money immediately. For more information on….
