Eighth Street water main project successfully completed

In August of 2021, NPU successfully completed one of our most difficult water main repair projects ever – the replacement of a 20-foot section of water main under the railroad tracks on Eighth Street in Greeneville.

What made this job so challenging? In addition to the fact the water main ran under the rail road tracks, there were multiple utilities in this area, we also had a very tight schedule to accommodate train traffic, and the schedule was compressed even further with the arrival of Tropical Storm Henri.

NPU worked with crews from RH White to complete this job safely and within the railroad’s schedule.
