13 Commercial customers earn $91,910 in Q2 rebates

13 commercial customers of NPU completed 16 efficiency upgrade projects in the 2nd Quarter of 2018 and earned $91,910 in rebates by investing in energy efficient lighting, heating and cooling upgrades.

The 13 projects represent a collective investment of approximately $562,000 by Norwich businesses in their buildings, properties and facilities. And in turn, these customers will save more than $126,000 on their annual energy costs, a return on investment of less than four and a half years.

A big success during the second quarter of 2018 was NPU’s partnership with Levine Distributing, which completed a significant energy-efficiency upgrade. By installing timers on the LED lighting in their keg room, the company is able to have the lights automatically dim and eventually shut off once the warehouse is unoccupied. They can even control the lights and timers from a smartphone.

For their efforts, Levine Distributing earned a rebate from NPU for $10,668 and will save more than $22,000 on their energy costs over the next year.
