Welcome to the fish counting room at the NPU Greeneville Fish Lift!
You are looking at live footage from our webcam. Fish lifts are performed daily during the spring season at approximately 4:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Check back at those times to watch native Diadromous fish exit the fish elevator to spawn upstream in the Shetucket River.
You may notice that some lifts pass more fish than others do. There are many factors that affect when the fish move upstream including: water temperature, water turbulence, outside weather and time of day.
Please note that each square in the fish-counting window is equal to 6 inches. So for example, a fish that extends the length of two squares is one foot long, three squares, 18 inches, etc.
