Due to the unfortunate shutdown of many food preparation establishments across the State of Connecticut due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) is reaching out to inform facilities of the proper shut down procedures for indoor Active Grease Recovery Units (AGRUs). NPU Board of Commissioners/Sewer Authority Meetings will be available online due to coronavirus pandemic

Due the closure of NPU to the public as a precaution from the coronavirus pandemic, the City of Norwich Board of Public Utilities Commissioners and Sewer Authority meetings scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2020 will be made available to the public through a WebEx link.  Citizens wishing to address the Board during the Public Comment period may do so online.  Click for more information.

NPU provides Reliance Health with $28,145 rebate for energy-efficiency project

On Tuesday, February 18, Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) presented Reliance Health with a rebate for $28,145 following the successful completion of a large-scale energy efficiency project.  As a result of this project, Reliance Health will realize a savings of more than $12,000 on their annual energy costs.

NPU completes most successful United Way fundraising campaign

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) has completed its most successful employee fundraising campaign ever and will provide $39,114 to the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut in 2020.  Both the total dollars raised and percentage of employee participation (109, or 77%) have exceeded any other level of support by NPU.
