NPU continues to serve as the Host Agency for the Norwich Area Clean Cities Coalition, a U.S. Department of Energy program promoting the use of alternative fuels and technologies to reduce petroleum consumption in transportation.

The Norwich area coalition stakeholders are committed to:

  • Supporting the goals of the U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities Program.
  • Working with other coalition stakeholders to promote the use of alternative fuel cars, increase vehicle mileage and reduce heavy duty vehicle idling.
  • Partnering with other Clean Cities stakeholders to create gasoline or diesel reduction programs and air improvement programs.
