NPU will continue to closely monitor the reservoirs and will advise customers of any changes to the capacity levels.


Public Notices

New Rates Approved

At its regular meeting held on May 27, 2008, the City of Norwich Board of Public Utilities Commissioners approved new electric and natural gas rates and fees. The proposed rates and fees were the subject of a public hearing held on May 13, 2008 and were filed with the City Clerk on April 25, 2008. Rates and Fees are effective for all billings on July 1, 2008.


Compact Fluorescent Bulbs

Want the facts concerning the mercury contained in compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) or how to properly dispose of broken bulbs? Visit www.epa.gov/mercury for information provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on mercury contained in CFLs.

NEW! CFLs can now be disposed of at the NPU Customer Service Center, located at 173 North Main Street, Norwich and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Also, the Norwich Transfer Station, located on Rogers Road, accepts CFLs at no charge. For Transfer Station hours, please visit the City of Norwich's website at www.norwichct.org.

New Water Rate Information

On February 19, 2008, the City of Norwich Board of Public Utilities Commissioners approved the proposed water rates. Water rates, with the effective date of October 1, 2008, are found on the Residential Rates and Commercial Rates pages respectively.

Copies of the water rates are available at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Union Square, Norwich, and at the Norwich Public Utilities Customer Service Center, 173 North Main Street in Norwich.
