Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) will begin the annual flushing of its water system for 2017 during the week of June 26. This work is expected to be complete before August 1st.

 Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) has launched a new online billing and payment service through Invoice Cloud, offering its customers greater ease and flexibility to view and pay their utility bills each month.

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) will install the piping and infrastructure for an underground natural gas regulating station at the intersection of Broadway and Chestnut Street in Downtown Norwich to improve its overall system reliability. 

The construction will take place between 7:00 pm and 5:00 am, beginning on June 18 and running through Friday morning, June 23. This work has been scheduled to minimize any impact on traffic Downtown and will not require any roads to be closed. 

 

Norwich Public Utilities marks Earth Day 2017 (April 22) by renewing its commitment to Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs) and releasing the results of the Norwich Clean Cities program for 2016.

 

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) has awarded the Norwich Historical Society with $38,951 to support efforts to restore the East District Schoolhouse on Washington Street in Norwichtown.

NPU successfully completes water testing program

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) has successfully completed a comprehensive water testing program that confirms that its water quality is well within the federal and state standards for both copper and lead.

 

For the second consecutive year, a three man utility crew from Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) has won the annual skills competition held by the Northeast Public Power Association (NEPPA).  The tenth annual event attracted 13 teams from across New England to complete in six events and was held at the NEPPA training center in Littleton, MA on September 15-16.

With drought-like conditions persisting in the region, NPU has issued a Water Supply Watch and is encouraging both commercial and residential customers to be cautious in their use of water until conditions improve.

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) Division Manager Jeff Brining was recently presented with a Patriot Award by Tom Pandolfi, Vice Chair of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Andrew Shetland, an NPU employee serving in the Connecticut Army National Guard nominated Brining, his immediate supervisor, and NPU for supporting him and his family while deployed.
